Win Conditions
Win conditions are checked at the end of each Year's Public Phase, after the jail vote resolves. If a condition is triggered mid-resolution, the game ends immediately.
Good Wins
Check in this order:
- Corrupt Purge — All Corrupt Politicians have been permanently eliminated (jailed twice, or killed via Auto Jail second-strike).
- Public Works Threshold — Approved Public Spending reaches or exceeds the target (e.g., 24 for 13 players).
Bad Wins
Check in this order:
- Good Purge — Both Good Politicians have been permanently eliminated (jailed twice, or killed via Tokhang).
- Corruption Fund Threshold — The Bad team's Corruption Fund (theft + kickbacks combined) reaches or exceeds the target (e.g., 20 for 13 players). Note that Suhol and Tokhang spend from this fund, so a Year that steals +3 and immediately spends 3 on Suhol contributes 0 to the threshold.
Why check order matters
Good conditions are checked first. If both a Good and Bad condition trigger in the same Year, Good wins.
The Jail Strike System
Every player has a strike counter tracked by the moderator:
| Jails | Status |
|---|---|
| 0 | Active |
| 1 | First strike — served 3-year suspension, now back |
| 2 | Permanently eliminated — removed from game |
A player on their first strike who gets jailed again is eliminated immediately at the point of jailing — they do not serve another suspension.
Strategic weight
First strikes are public knowledge — everyone knows who has one. A player on a first strike becomes a high-value target for Bad (frame a Good Politician) and a protected asset for Good (cover them with the Lawyer).
The Two Races
| Good's race | Bad's race |
|---|---|
| Accumulate Approved Public Spending to target | Accumulate theft + kickbacks (Corruption Fund) to target |
| Permanently eliminate both Corrupt Politicians | Permanently eliminate both Good Politicians |
Both races run simultaneously. Each side has a menu of paid abilities that trade their own race for direct action:
| Side | Ability | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Good | Auto Jail | ½ Public Spending target | Force a jail vote on a target |
| Corrupt | Suhol | 3 from Corruption Fund | Silence COA for one Discussion phase |
| Corrupt | Tokhang | ½ Corruption Fund target | Permanently eliminate a target (Lawyer can block) |
| Ombudsperson | Witness | Once per game | Publicly reveal an investigation result, triggering a runoff vote |
Corruption Fund Tracker
The moderator tracks Bad's Corruption Fund privately. It is the running total of:
- All Midnight Transaction thefts (when Corrupt choose to steal)
- All kickbacks earned from successful project committees
This total is never announced publicly. Bad wins when it reaches the target.
